All for Doggies is proud to have played a part in bringing the new Marlboro Township Dog Park into being. We have been a supporter of a community dog park since the idea was first proposed – even helping to collect signatures in support of the concept. As dog care professionals, we know that dogs (and the people who love them) needed a place like this to socialize, exercise and have fun.
Our $2,500 donation paid for the eight “DoggiePot” waste disposal stations located around the Dog Park and the special doggie drinking fountain that provides much-needed refreshment for thirsty pets and people. Additionally, our All for Doggies staff helped plan and execute the Dog Day Festival to celebrate the Grand Opening of this great community resource and we look forward to supporting future dog-friendly events there.
All for Doggies, a Best Friends Day Camp, offers high quality doggie daycare, with all day play, in large indoor and outdoor play yards, as well as overnight boarding, grooming and training. We are staffed entirely by trained professionals who love dogs. Stop in at 234 Boundary Road in Marlboro or visit us on the Web at www.allfordoggies.com

Matthew Welch is a Life Scout with Boy Scout Troop 85 that meets at the Robertsville Firehouse in Marlboro. Matt began work on his dream of bringing a dog park to his hometown of Marlboro in the fall of 2006. Under the guidelines for completing the final level of scouting, Matt was required to complete an Eagle Scout project that would leave a lasting effect on his community. In June 2007 Matt presented the idea for a dog park in Marlboro to the prior administration, complete with photos, cost estimates and possible dimensions of the park. That proposal was turned down in September 2007 based upon the cost of the dog park (approximately $100,000) and budget constraints, but Matt persisted . In January 2008 Matt brought his proposal of building a dog park to Matawan. At nearly the same time, Mayor Hornik's administration was forming and it too was in favor of providing the Township with a dog park as a new Town amenity. With the full support of the Hornik administration, and the generous contributions and tireless efforts of many individuals and businesses in Town, as well as Matt's scout troop, Matt finally realized his goal of building a dog park in his hometown. He has now completed his Eagle Scout project and will receive his Eagle Scout award at a Court of Honor ceremony in the fall of 2008. |
