Changes to Battery Recycling:
As of October 15th Monmouth County Health Department and Solid Waste Management Program will no longer mandate that residents recycle batteries.
AAA, AA, A, C, D, and 9 volt batteries can be safely thrown out in the garbage. Rechargeable batteries may be brought to various retailers who will collect them free of charge.
Only Button Cell batteries will still be accepted at the Township Recycle Yard.
