Clean Communities/Recycling

Since 1986, Marlboro Township has participated in the New Jersey Clean Communities Program under the direction of our Recycling Grant Coordinator.  Each year, we are awarded the maximum available grant which is used to purchase and maintain refuse and recycling containers at our parks, athletic fields, and public buildings.  The grant also funds the staff at the Recycling Center, as well as an environmental officer to identify properties that violate environmental laws and to ensure compliance.  The Clean Communities Grant has allowed the Township to purchase additional equipment to meet the roadside cleanup needs of our growing community, as well as to coordinate local volunteer groups to help remove litter and debris from roads, paths, streams, and parks.
