The Marlboro Township Recycling Center is located on the Marlboro Municipal Complex on Lotta Burke Way, which is off of Township Drive. The Recycling Center accepts recyclables Mondays & Wednesdays 8:00am – 1:30pm, as well as, Saturdays from 8:00am-4:00pm
Construction debris is not be accepted at the Recycling Center
Only the following clean recyclables may be brought to the Municipal Recycling Center:
- co-mingled glass beverage containers
- metal food beverage containers
- pourable plastic beverage containers
- laundry detergent containers
- telephone books/magazines
- household batteries
- mixed paper
- office paper
- Christmas trees
- brush and tree parts
- cardboard (please bundle 2 ft. x 2 ft. x 1 ft.)
- metals (white goods)
- appliances (all)
- wheel hubs and rims
- tires (separated from rims)
- tire rims (separated from tires)
- scrap metal
- empty propane tanks (valves opened 24 hours)
- carpeting and padding
- All TV’s, any size, computers, monitors, scanners, printers, etc. are accepted at the Recycle Center from all Monmouth County residents with no permit required.
New Rule: Leaves and brush may be brought to the Municipal Recycling Center year-round only during recycling center hours. Leaves left at the recycling center must be emptied from their bags or containers and the bags or containers must be removed from the site. Marlboro residents may bring up to five tires to the Recycling Center, provided that rims have been removed. Rims are accepted as scrap metal. Mixed paper accepted at the Recycling Center includes office and school paper, glossy paper, mail and envelopes, computer and fax paper. Tissues, paper towels and carbon paper are not accepted. Please recycle corrugated, brown paper grocery bags, telephone books and newspapers separately. Only #1 and #2 plastic containers will be accepted, up to 1 gallon in size, metal parts and bottle caps removed. Containers are provided for used children's and adult's clothing, shoes, sneakers, footwear, belts, pocketbooks and accessories, bed liners, towels, curtains, bedspreads and clean fabrics. Hardcover books, paperbacks, magazines, catalogs, school textbooks and workbooks are also accepted. Anyone who leaves garbage at the Recycling Center or who leaves recyclables outside the fence when the site is closed will be fined heavily.
NOTE TO RESIDENTS UTILIZING
LANDSCAPE OR BUILDING
The Marlboro Township Solid Waste/Recycling Bureau requires all building and landscape contractors to remove all debris and materials they generate. Debris or materials left by a contractor will not be collected by the Recycling Contractor.
Compost is available to Township residents all year. Just bring containers and tools to the Municipal Recycling Center and take it away!
