Roads Maintenance Bureau

The Roads Maintenance Bureau (732-972-8866) maintains the streets and roads in Marlboro Township, storm drainage maintenance/repairs, street sweeping, tree trimming, leaf and brush collections, hauling and processing, emergency bulk waste collections, and emergency response for major accidents.  The Roads Maintenance Bureau provides the lead, planning, manpower, and equipment for implementing the snow and ice control program. Please adhere to brush and leaf pick-ups as scheduled in the recycling calendar.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

TREE TRIMMING is performed year round, with schedules laid out at least six months in advance. Crews only trim trees that are within or not more than 15 feet of the edge of the right-of-way/roadway.  Trees that are close to utility power transmission lines are reported to the appropriate power utility company.

SWEEPING - The Bureau owns and operates two street sweepers.  Weather permitting, they continuously sweep the Township's roadways and parking lots.  The sweeping of a given location is repeated about once every three months.

GRASS CUTTING - The Bureau also owns and operates a Sickle Bar Tractor.  Weather permitting, it is dispatched to cut grass in municipally-owned properties and along the edge of Township right-of-way/roadways.  This service is operative until the first snowfall.  Please note that grass cutting cannot be accomplished during wet weather conditions.

ROAD, CURBING AND DRAINAGE REPAIRS - The Bureau undertakes road repairs, overlays, pothole repairs, curb repair replacement, drainage projects, etc. on a required basis.

MUNICIPAL SNOW DAMAGE POLICY - Residents should note that driveways that extend into the roadway pavement surface that are damaged by snow plowing equipment are not the responsibility of the Road Maintenance Bureau of Marlboro Township and will not be repaired or replaced by the Township.  In addition, please be advised that mailboxes that are damaged as a result of plowing equipment clearing and throwing snow off of the roadway will also not be considered the responsibility of Marlboro Township for repair and/or replacement.
