Shop 'til You Drop

Dear Marlboro Residents:

Marlboro Township’s Economic Development Committee (EDC) is committed to increasing the sales of our local businesses through a targeted town-wide marketing campaign titled, Shop Marlboro!

By way of background, there is a correlation between an increase in spending for local goods and services and a reduction in residential property taxes. To stimulate that spending, the EDC will be launching its Shop Marlboro! campaign on May 21, 2011.  We encourage town residents to make at least one purchase from a Marlboro business where you have not previously shopped.

Leading up to our week-long kick-off event beginning on May 21, 2011, the EDC has been working with our local businesses to help support this event by offering various discounts and services above and beyond their regular sales promotions. And in order to do our part, the EDC is sponsoring a Shop Marlboro! ‘til You Drop contest.  It’s fun and easy to win….

The shopper with the most receipts from a Marlboro-based business wins!

How it works

• Do your shopping in Marlboro during the event dates of May 21-31, 2011.
• Collect your receipts from Marlboro businesses where you shopped during the campaign dates and place them in an envelope.  Enclose a separate sheet of paper indicating the following:
  • Shopper’s name
  • Shopper’s address
  • Shopper’s phone number
  • Shopper’s email address
  • Tally of enclosed, qualifying receipts
• You must be 18 years of age or older to participate in the contest.
• Note regarding qualifying receipts:
  • One receipt per business/service per date.
  • All receipts must be originals (copies or duplicates will not be accepted).
  • All receipts must reflect a business address located in Marlboro If you would like your receipts returned, please indicate on the enclosed sheet of paper with your contact information and you will be contacted as to when you can pick them up.
• Entries should be mailed/dropped off at the Marlboro Town Center, located at 1979 Township Drive, Marlboro, N.J.  07746, Attn: Shop Marlboro! ‘til You Drop.  All entries must be postmarked/received no later than June 2, 2011.

Prizes

• The three top shoppers with the most number of qualified receipts will win a fabulous gift basket choc full of prizes donated by our local merchants.
• Prize winners will be notified by June 11, 2011.
