Dear Marlboro Resident:

In an effort to respond to the national economic crisis and to keep municipal cost down, the Township will initiate modified hours of operation for Town Hall.  Effective May 1, 2009 Town Hall will be closed on Fridays.  Normal business hours will be maintained Monday through Thursday 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.

This modified work week will allow the Township to substantially reduce costs while maintaining the current level of Municipal services.  We estimate the residents of our Town can achieve savings of approximately $1,000,000 by converting to a 4 day work week.  These savings are absolutely essential as the revenues used to fund our Municipal government have dropped substantially as economic conditions have become worse.

Public Safety (uniform Police Officers), the Recreation Department will not be affected by the modified hours of operation and they will continue to function on a Monday through Friday schedule. The  Swim Club Office will be open 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM -Mon. – Thurs. The Swim Pool Facility will not be affected by these changes.

Please note that on Friday, May 1, 2009 the Tax Collector’s Office will be open as well.

We apologize for any inconvenience; however, the Mayor and Council believe that these actions are necessary and prudent given these very difficult economic times.  Should you have any questions, please contact my office at Town Hall at 732-536-0200.

Very Truly Yours,

Jonathan L. Hornik
Mayor
