3M Soccer comes to Marlboro Recreation
The 3M soccer league is a competitive, recreation based soccer program designed for both male and female players in the 7th through 12th grades.
This league is a modified travel program, and teams compete throughout the Marlboro, Monroe and Manalapan Townships. While the league has been in existence for over 5 years, this past fall season was the first in which Marlboro recreation submitted soccer teams of both boys and girls at the high school age level. With over 25 female, and 50 male participants from Marlboro competing in our inaugural season, it was a resounding success.
The 3M program provides a nice alternative to some of the recreation and travel programs offered in most towns. The skill level of the participants is slightly more advanced than the typical recreation program, which makes the league more competitive. There is also significantly less travel involved, and practices are typically held only once a week. For many parents and students who are concerned with both the time commitment and expense of many Travel Soccer programs, the 3M league offers a nice alternative. In addition, for most of the 3M teams, you can also indicate a preference for teammates, which is typically honored.
The Spring 3M season begins in April, and participants who are interested may register for the program at the Marlboro recreation center. For additional information, please feel free to contact Jeff Rosen, the Marlboro Recreation Soccer Director at Squig2@aol.com
