• Piled Curbside Collection Nearing Completion
  • Bagged Leaf Pickup to Begin
  • Special FREE Leaf Bag Distribution Saturday

Dear Resident,

As curbside, piled leaf collection nears completion bagged pickup will begin by zone the week of December 13.  Leaves must be placed in biodegradable paper bags as per the collection schedule in the recycling calendar HERE and detailed below.  A reminder that the Town is offering free, biodegradable leaf bags to every home and, we are pleased to announce that additional bags are available (more below).

As we enter into the winter months and a greater chance of inclement weather, delays and adjustments to curbside collections are probable.  Postponements, weather emergencies and more are announced through a combination of our communication options.  Please visit the Township website at www.marlboro-nj.gov and enter your email in the blue box.  Follow the official Township Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages (look for the blue and gold seal). Registering for as many communication options as possible ensures that we can reach you even when some lines of communication are disturbed.

With all this in mind, please review the following information:

    • Bagged Leaf Collection: Bagged leaf collection will be held by zone in December and another in January, 2022 to coincide with the Christmas Tree collection. Bagged leaves must be placed in paper, biodegradable leaf bags provided to residents at no charge (see below) or other paper, biodegradable bags widely available.
    • Leaf Bag Distribution: To claim your bags complete the on line SDL form and bring your emailed permit to the DPW Monday to Friday 7:00am to 2:30 pm.
      • Special Leaf Bag Distribution Saturday, December 11 from 8am - noon at the DPW building. Register on the SDL portal online no later than Friday to reserve your leaf bags.
      • We are pleased to announce that additional leaf bags are available for those who have need for more than the 25 bags originally provided. Simply place another request through the SDL portal to pick them up at Saturday’s special distribution or at DPW during normal business hours.

Leaves Piled Curbside Following Collection Must be Removed  - Once DPW collects your street’s leaves, they will not return and the leaves must be removed by a private contractor, brought to the recycling center or bagged for the next collection. Leaves left piled in the street after collection is complete exacerbate flooding, become icy and dangerous and interfere with snow plowing. As per DEP and Township Ordinance, residents with leaves left curbside will receive a notice.
