MARLBORO TOWNSHIP MUNCIPAL OFFICES AND SERVICES – Revised
To protect residents and employees, all Town Hall Municipal Offices will continue to be CLOSED to the public until further notice. However, every Department is staffed and can be reached by phone or email.
All non-essential Township meetings and programs have been cancelled or postponed. Essential meetings are being held virtually. Please check the website calendar and emails for updates.

The following details information pertaining to Marlboro Services:
Spring Cleanup/Bulk Curbside Pickup DELAYED – As announced previously, due to the COVID-19 State of Emergency restrictions, the Spring Curbside Bulk pickup was delayed. Following conversations with the contractor, the collection is expected to be rescheduled for late spring. The schedule by zone will be announced mid-May. To ensure the safety of pedestrians and bicyclists and to prevent flooding, no bulk items may be curbside at this time. The new dates will be sent to residents via email, posted on the website, social media, and sent via SWIFT 911. For more on recycling guidelines, please refer to the Recycling Calendar on line HERE.
Brush Only Collection - Curbside brush only collection has begun by zone. Leaf collection is complete and bagged or piled leaves must be removed from the curb by a private contractor or brought to the recycling center. To review brush collection guidelines and your zone’s collection date, please review page 12 of the recycling calendar HERE. A reminder that when brush collection is complete, no lawn debris may be curbside as we begin the summer road program.
Township Recycle Yard - The yard will be opened for cardboard, comingled paper, electronics, brush and leaves only. No bulk trash items of any kind will be accepted. In order to ensure the safety of our employees and adhere to the CDC‘s requirement of “social distancing”, Township staff will not be able to assist you with placing your items in any of our containers, and we may need to limit the amount of cars in the site at one time. Licenses and Permits - Marlboro Township issues a number of licenses and permits, some of which are available online. The link below has two tables. The first table will guide you to find the online options that are available. The second table to the appropriate downloadable forms and regulating organization. HERE.
- Inspections - At this point, inspection dates are currently being scheduled for the month of May, but will ultimately depend upon the duration of the State of Emergency. Inspections associated with emergencies such as septic or water, unoccupied structures and outdoor facilities which allow for safe distance between residents and inspectors are being accommodated. - Parks – Marlboro Township parks continue to be open for “passive recreation” Playgrounds and courts are closed and have been roped off to restrict access. Team sports and field games which encourage close contact are prohibited. Governor Murphy signed Executive Order 133 opening, with restrictions, state parks and forests effective May 2 at 6am. Monmouth County parks will reopen May 2 with strict social distancing requirements and reduced parking. Visit https://www.monmouthcountyparks.com/ for details.
- Marlboro Division of Police – The Police Department is open 24/7 and can be reached at 732- 536-0100. Please not call the police for updates regarding COVID-19. They do not have information above what is available on our website and it is vital that their lines be accessible for emergency calls. Emergencies, of course, dial 9-1-1.
- In response to the concerns regarding the COVID-19 virus, Chief Peter Pezzullo is advising the public that every effort is being taken to maintain police services to our residents. The community should be aware that some changes have been implemented by the police department for providing emergency services and maintaining the safety of all first responders. Call takers for the police department have been instructed to ask standardized pre-arrival screening questions to better identify how the police department should respond to the request for service.
- For police requests of a non-emergent nature such as thefts, criminal mischief, harassment complaints, etc., citizens are urged to file an online police report through the police department’s website and linked HERE.
- Court – Following the Courts Omnibus Order, discussions are in process regarding conducting remote Municipal Court proceedings and sessions. For more information, please call 732-536-0300.
