Winter Weather Event – Update #1

Dear Resident,

The Marlboro Office of Emergency Management has been monitoring another winter weather event that may impact us beginning on Friday and into Saturday.  This one is a potential “Nor’easter”.  According to the National Weather Service, Nor’easters “nearly always bring precipitation in the form of heavy rain or snow, as well as winds of gale force, rough seas, and, occasionally, coastal flooding to the affected regions.”

There is still a substantial amount of uncertainty as to the path this storm will take.  Preliminary reports from the National Weather Service indicate that mixed precipitation will begin on Friday and change over to accumulating snow as temperatures drop going into Saturday.  Temperatures in the 20s and blustery conditions are also expected on Saturday.

We will continue to monitor the weather and update you as more becomes available.

Stay safe,

Mayor Jon Hornik
