Winter Storm Toby
Update # 3
March 20, 2018 5:00 pm

Dear Resident,

The National Weather Service issued an updated weather briefing. Two systems will merge off the coast tomorrow. It is expected that temperatures will remain below freezing for the duration of the storm.
Precipitation is presently varying across the state. A lull will occur overnight; however all of Monmouth County will have snowfall by 8am Wednesday. Accumulations 10” to 18” are possible, but uncertainty remains as to where the heaviest bands of snow will develop. Snow rates of 2-3” per hour are expected during the day on Wednesday.

Marlboro Office of Emergency Management sent the following message via SWIFT 911:

This is a message from the Marlboro Township Office of Emergency Management. We are currently monitoring the impending nor'easter that is likely to impact our area this evening and throughout the day on Wednesday. Residents are advised to remove all vehicles from snow covered roadways to allow for plowing operations. Residents who have placed brush at the curbside must remove it from the roadway to allow for the plows to clear the roads from curb to curb. We will continue to monitor the situation and keep residents informed. Stay warm and safe. Thank you

Strong Winds and a wintry mix can cause downed power lines and power outages. Power outages should be reported directly to JCP&L by calling JCP&L at 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877) to report your outage or use one of their many on-line options as detailed HERE. Assume all downed wires are live and dangerous and immediately report to JCP&L or the Marlboro Division of Police.

Please check the prior email for Township Cancellations & Postponements. Additionally, Marlboro Municipal Court scheduled for Thursday is cancelled; a new court date will be sent via US mail. The Marlboro K-8 School Board meeting is cancelled for this evening.

Again, remove cars, brush, and other obstructions from the roads to allow for complete snow plowing.

We will update you via email, social media, and SWIFT 911, as necessary. Please make preparations now so you can stay off the roads and allow clear passage for DPW, Police and First Responders.

Thank you for your assistance. Stay safe,
Marlboro OEM
