We are less than a month from spring and it appears that the weather pattern that brought us a spate of winter storms has passed. That being said, as the weather warms and the asphalt freezes and thaws, pothole season comes to the northeast. Please see below for how to quickly and easily report potholes to our Department of Public Works.
MARLBORO POTHOLE PORTAL - Our Pothole Portal allows residents who drive our streets every day to help direct resources to those areas most in need. By entering the complaint directly it allows for an even more efficient response. The Pothole Portal is a part of our SDL system and you need register only one time to access our many on-line services. Many roads in Marlboro are under state or county jurisdiction. State Roads can be reported using the online form HERE or call 1-800-POTHOLE. Monmouth County Roads can be reported to 732-431-6550.
RECYCLING CALENDAR – The 2021 Official Department of Public Works recycling calendar is in the mail to your home. It can be recognized by its white, red and green cover printed on recycled cardstock. Please do not discard the calendar as it contains important recycling dates and information for the year. The on-line Calendar can be found here.
Brush Collection Postponed Until Further Notice - We remind residents that brush collections are postponed until further notice by Marlboro Office of Emergency Management. An updated schedule, when determined, will be sent via email and social media. No lawn debris should be placed curbside. Our Recycling Center is open and residents may bring brush and leaves (not commingled) to the recycling center throughout the year as per the published schedule. No permit or fee needed.
SCAM ALERT – It has come to our attention that telephone scammers are posing as JCP&L employee threatening to shut off service unless immediate payment is made. JCP&L never demands payment over the phone or in person and they do not accept prepaid debit cards. Do not ever give out personal information such as credit cards or social security number over the phone. If you receive a suspicious call, hang up immediately! Please review the US Government ‘Scams & Frauds’ to learn how to protect yourself. Please share this information with those that may not have access to the internet.
MENTAL HEALTH AND PANDEMIC FATIGUE – Identify emotional needs and help those in your family and community. Virtual training sessions are offered at no cost through the NJ Department of Homan Services. Please review the FLYER for dates and times.
COVID-19 UPDATE #48 – This week, our COVID-19 newsletter, including vaccine locations and registration information, was sent via email, posted on our website and shared on social media. If you missed it please review the newsletter here.
COVID-19 TESTING IN MARLBORO: The COVID-19 testing truck remains at the Recreation Center Parking lot. The testing is done via saliva test, you do not have to be symptomatic and results are emailed in 72 hours. Please review the flyer for dates/times, the QR code to pre-register and what is needed to expedite the process. There are no out-of-pocket costs for the test. WESTERN MONMOUTH UTILITY AUTHORITY (WMUA) – The WMUA announced a change to annual billing in January, 2020 via US mail to their customers. Rather than postcards, the annual bill with 4 tear-offs looks very much like your property tax bill. Domestic Violence Response Team (DVRT) - Marlboro Police Department seeks volunteers to service on the DVRT in affiliation with 180 Turning Lives Around. Training via zoom required. Click HERE for more and application.
