Township Weekend Update
Dear Resident,
- DPW Scheduled Fall Brush Collection – Brush collection for zones 3 and 5 will begin Monday, October 19. These are the final zones and will end brush collection for 2020. If DPW has passed your street, they will not return. Brush should be removed by a private contractor or brought to the recycling center, free of charge and no permit required. Please review the letter sent via email for zone pickup weeks and regulations HERE.

- Halloween Safety & Recreation Fall Programming – Please review the letter sent via email for Halloween Safety and protocols HERE. We encourage residents to become familiar with state and federal health guidance. Please use the PDF printable signs in the letter and visibly post on Halloween to let your neighbors know if you are welcoming trick-or treaters. All can join in fall fun with Marlboro Recreation’s socially distanced fall and Halloween events for all ages.
COVID-19 UPDATE
- Testing Updates: As of this morning, Monmouth County had 72 daily additional positive cases of COVID-19, four (4) of them Marlboro. To date, Marlboro Township has 704 cumulative COVID-19 tests.The County provides daily testing updates broken down by town and posts it on their website HERE. Totals throughout the state are posted daily on the Data Dashboard found on the NJ COVID-19 Information hub HERE.
- Free COVID-19 Testing: Monmouth County will offer free COVID-19 testing for County residents on Saturday, Oct. 17 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Freehold Borough Fire Department, 49 W. Main Street, Rear Annex. The clinic has 100 tests and once those are administered, the clinic will close for the day. Testing sites are posted on the State COVID-19 TESTING HUB.
- State Utility Shut-Off Moratorium EXTENDED:
- No household may have its electricity, gas service or water shut off for non-payment through March 15, 2021.
- Service must be restored if it was disconnected during the public health emergency.
- Moratorium against the disconnection of internet or voice service is extended through November 15, 2020.
- Households with school-age children who need internet connectivity for remote learning will be extended through March 15, 2021
- Cable providers MUST offer at least a 12-month repayment plan that would allow customers to pay back what they over equal installments before disconnecting internet or voice.
- Customers are urged to contact their providers to set-up a payment plan and pay what they are able, no matter how small.
- The NJ Department of Labor will distribute up to $1.5 billion in the FEMA lost wages assistance. Eligible claimants can expect to see this money as a lump sum payment early next week. MORE.
- The Corporate Business Tax filing deadline has been extended to November 16. Please review Governor Murphy’s Executive Order 189 and consult with your financial advisor.
- NJ Health Insurance Marketplace - Open enrollment starts November 1 (you may be able to register now if you lost coverage, income or had a major life change). Website open now to compare plans, prices and find financial assistance eligibility. For more visit https://nj.gov/getcoverednj/
- COVID Alert NJ – New Jersey’sfree, secure mobile app anonymously alerts users if they have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive. The app does not record data and users remain anonymous. Download from App or Google. For more visit https://covid19.nj.gov/pages/app
