ROAD TO REMAIN OPEN – CONSTRUCTION ADVISORY
These roads will remain accessible during construction, although motorists are advised to use caution through the work zone. The scheduled time frame for this work is weather-dependent, and every effort will be made to minimize any inconvenience to residents during this time.
Wicker Place and Thomas Lane – Wednesday, August 10 and Thursday, August 11, construction crews will be on Wicker Place and Thomas Lane performing mill and pave operations.
Wyncrest Road – Tuesday, August 9, pavement reconstruction around the recently installed handicapped ramps will take place at the intersection of School Road West and Wyncrest Road. The concrete work has been completed and pedestrian signage at the island is in place. (see below under ‘Upcoming – Funding in Part by DOT Grant’ for details about this ongoing project)
CONSTRUCTION AND FACILITY ADVISORY
Marlboro Recreation Facility – Paving at the Recreation Center parking lot is complete and the lot has been striped. Electricians are completing the lighting repairs.
Brookside Circle - Water Main Replacement project is tentatively scheduled to begin over the next couple of weeks. Test pits have already been completed, and much of the materials have already been delivered to the site.
Marlboro Airport Property – NJ Transit, in cooperation with Monmouth County and Marlboro Township, is using the airport site (preserved land) to perform AVATAR (Autonomous Vehicle Assessment, Testing & Research) to evaluate the use of autonomous vehicles as shuttles to improve community transportation in NJ. School Road East – The Gordon’s Corner Water water main project between Debra Court and the Colts Neck border will commence later this month. The project will consist of the installation of approximately 6,500 linear feet of water main including service connections for all applicable residents and hydrants where required. Gordons Corner Water Company will be reaching out to all affected residents before the project commences. Questions should be directed to Gordon’s Corner Water at 732-946-9333.
UPCOMING – FUNDED IN PART BY NJDOT GRANT
Wyncrest Road: The Township will be repaving Wyncrest Road between Robertsville Road and Route 18 utilizing a $215,000 grant received from the State Department of Transportation. This work is being coordinated with water system improvements at the intersection of Robertsville Road, Wyncrest Road and Brookside Circle. Once the water main project is complete, Wyncrest Road and Brookside circle will be resurfaced along the project limits along with upgrades to the ADA curb ramps. The water main work was awarded in the fall of 2021 with construction to begin in the spring of 2022. Resurfacing of the roadway is scheduled to commence in the fall of 2022.
Ryan Road - Mayor Jon Hornik and the Township Council are pleased to announce that Marlboro has been selected to receive funding from the NJ DOT Municipal Aid Program for the Ryan Road improvement project in the amount of $251,900. More to follow.
Union Hill Road: The Township will be repaving Union Hill Road between Clayton Road and the Manalapan border utilizing a $205,000 grant received from the State Department of Transportation. This work includes removal and replacement of deteriorated concrete curb and concrete curb and gutter, modifications to the intersection of Hawkins Road to improve the pedestrian crossing, upgrade of all curb ramps to meet ADA regulations, and the milling and resurfacing of the entire roadway surface. Contingent upon funding, the project is anticipated to be bid in the spring with construction commencing in the summer/fall of 2022.
