ROADS TO REMAIN OPEN – CONSTRUCTION ADVISORY – POLICE PRESENT
The roads will remain open and accessible during construction, although motorists are advised to use caution through the work zone.
Tennent Road and Route 520 Intersection Traffic Signal Improvements Underway – The NJ Department of Transportation has commenced improvements at this intersection. The improvements, within existing roadway limits, will include the installation of a new “left hand turn only” lane and signal on Tennent Road in both directions to allow vehicles to turn left on to Newman Springs Road in an exclusive signal phase. The improvements will include new traffic striping and signage

Both Tennent and 520 are county roads; however this project is under the jurisdiction of the NJ DOT due to its proximity to the Route 18 overpass. As reported in prior emails, the Township of Marlboro has been coordinating this effort with both the NJDOT and Monmouth County and, in November 2017, the Township Council adopted an ordinance appropriating funding for the 25% cost share required by the NJDOT for the construction of the signal improvements.

Please note the schedule for this week:

· Now through Thursday - The crews will be working off the roadway from 9am until 3pm. No disruption of traffic expected.

· Friday Night – Crews will be extending the conduit across the roadway on Friday night from 8pm until 4am. Traffic will have access, with lane closures as necessary.
