Dear Resident,

It has come to our attention that news articles are being shared on social media indicating that Hamas is calling for a global attack on Friday.  We have been in communication with our contact at Homeland Security and they have confirmed that this is not a credible threat.  That being said, out of an abundance of caution, we have been and will continue to increase police presence at our schools.

I have also been made aware that there are rumors about anti-Semitism in Marlboro High School. I want to state, as I have many times before, that we are a proudly multicultural and inclusive town, and racism, discrimination or hate crimes, including anti-Semitism, will not be tolerated in any form. We have been in contact with the High School administration and they have confirmed that they are unaware of any cases of anti-Semitic emails or texts from students. We will continue to work with school officials to monitor the situation.

This is a very distressing and fearful time for us all.  We remind you, as always, to be vigilant and to report anything that seems out of place. The Marlboro Police can be reached at 732-536-0100.  Emergencies dial 911.

‘See Something. Say Something. We will Do Something.’

Yours in Community,

Mayor Jonathan Hornik
Chief Peter J. Pezzullo
