Winter Weather Advisory – Update #1

Dear Resident,

Our unsettled weather pattern continues, and the National Weather Service (NWS) has again issued a winter weather advisory for our area from 10pm tonight until Saturday at 10am.

The forecast currently calls for snow to begin later this evening, become heavier overnight and continue through Saturday morning. Snowfall of up to 4” is possible before tapering off Saturday morning.  Breezy with gusts up to 30mph are expected until this evening.

We remind you that, as per ordinance, all vehicles and other obstructions such as basketball hoops and trash bins must be off the road during snow removal operations.  Brush collection remains suspended until further notice.  Brush currently curbside for collection may remain in place, but no additional brush should be placed curbside.

As a reminder, in the event of power outages, report your outage by calling 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877), clicking the “Report Outage” link on www.firstenergycorp.com, or by texting out to 544487.

Hazardous travel conditions are possible late this evening.  Untreated surfaces including sidewalks and driveways will likely be slippery. Please use caution if you must be on the roadways.

Please review the ‘Surviving the Snow’ on pages 22 and 23 of the Recycling Calendar and linked HERE for tips, important numbers and websites.

We will continue to monitor updates to the forecast, and keep you posted as to any changes via email, social media channels and the Township website.

Stay safe,

Mayor Jon Hornik
